Mentor Digital was commissioned by Nottingham University Hospitals to lead the planning, design and build of their new website and CMS. Mentor scored highest in the tender process partly thanks to our experience with other NHS Trusts and the accessibility charity Shaw Trust.
The end-to-end website development process included a set of intensive stakeholder and website user engagement workshops. The workshops were led by Mentor's MD Holland Risley who said "site planning workshops are a really valuable addition to any project of this size. These sessions really help Mentor to understand the requirements of the new website and the stakeholders, and help bring together different teams within the organisation, making everyone feel engaged with the website planning and development process."
The CMS system is a large scale enterprise level solution based on the open source Umbraco platform. The solution for NUH provides membership areas for staff and Trust members, document. media and video management systems and a powerful role based access system to allow diverse teams and departments to take control of their own areas of the website. With 40+ content editors across the hospitals the CMS has proven to be robust, secure and reliable.
