“To create a DVD about such a sensitive and impactful subject is not easy but Mentor took time to understand the brief, develop the storyline and create an excellent end product which is now receiving positive comments and praise from many varied audiences.”

Meningitis Trust
12 minute charity video and DVD
Mentor Digital created a DVD for The Meningitis Trust that
featured a twelve-minute film shot in HD, about how the Meningitis
Trust is 'making a difference'. The film was a mixture of
interviews, appeals to camera and footage of talks and events run
by the trust. We also scripted and recorded a voiceover with
former BBC and ITV news presenter Andrew Harvey.
This was a sensitive subject and many of the contributors were
still emotional about their experiences so a close working
relationship was essential to ensure we tackled each interview in
the appropriate way and representatives were on hand throughout the
filming if the contributors felt they needed further support.
As well as the main film 'Making a Difference' the DVD included
ten case study videos, which told the individual stories of people
whose lives have been impacted by meningitis. The case
studies came from the powerful interviews we were able to record
for the main film but originally were unable to show more than a
brief clip of because of time constraints. We felt there was
too much important material captured on film not to make use of so
the trust gave the go ahead to create the case studies.
We also created a humorous out-takes video made up of clips of
staff fluffing their lines for the staff end of year review
meeting.
